What's new with 1716 from December of 2025?
Our upcoming parties, premieres, and productions.
One chapter ends and another begins!
With the year coming to a close, and the new year almost here, I’m overjoyed to inform you of new developments in the world of 1716!
As a whole, 2026 will see a lot more opportunities to get involved in the 1716 community. To begin with, let’s recap this past December and set our sights on January…
We hosted another fundraising mixer for our New York community!
I want to extend a huge ‘thank you’ to those who attended the final fundraising event for our upcoming short film Nowhere But Here on December 12th!
It was a wonderful night at the Starr Bar in Brooklyn, attended by old and new friends alike.
By the time the crowdfunding campaign came to a close on December 22nd, over $9500 had been raised thanks to the incredible support of this community!
Thanks to the production budget now being funded in its entirety, principal photography will be taking place as early as mid January of 2026.
Our most recent short film is releasing on YouTube!
It’s been a long time coming for our coming-of-age short film Shallow, which will be releasing via our YouTube channel on January 15th!
Since being shot in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in the summer of 2024, the film has been in post-production through early 2025.
During that period, brief clips from the film and behind-the-scenes footage has garnered more than seven million views across a dozen TikTok posts.
After its worldwide premiere at the 2025 Virginia Film Festival this past October, we’ve decided it’s finally time to share the film online and let viewers experience it for themselves!
For a project as deeply personal as this short is to me, I’ll absolutely be writing about it in-depth upon release, but most of all, I’m just excited to share it with you!
Additionally, stay tuned for more from this project beyond its release in January…
Our feature film Days of August is now available on several streaming platforms!
The dystopian forbidden romance movie that 1716 released this past summer is now available to stream via several additional sites!
Vimeo On Demand is the platform Days of August was initially released on in August, and remains the only site where the behind-the-making-of documentary is available to watch.
Amazon’s Prime Video now has the film available to rent as well, and is, most conveniently, an app that is likely already installed on your home TV.
Lastly, the film is available to watch for free with ads via Popsy on Plex, and soon to be followed by Xumo, Fawesome, Tubi, and more.
While potentially difficult to view on a TV, and also requiring you to make a free account, the Vimeo platform remains the site that most directly supports the filmmakers who made the project.
Regardless of how and where you watch Days of August, we really appreciate your support! Every view contributes toward the next project from us.
If you give it a watch, please consider leaving an honest review and rating through Letterboxd! We’d all love to hear your thoughts.
See you soon, and stay posted for next month’s update!
I hope you’ve had the chance to spend time with your loved ones and celebrate the holiday season!
Stay tuned for more details as they become available, and don’t forget to follow along at @1716digital on all platforms!
